Have you heard about the unfinished room theory?

As a kid and teenager I watched the TV show Changing Rooms and laughed at some of their “interesting" room designs. If you are too young to remember the show, the idea was neighbours or friends decorated one room in each other’s home and then there was a big reveal. If you watched it, do you remember that episode where they designed the couple’s bedroom head to toe in black and red? During the reveal the woman burst into tears straight away and said it looked like a brothel!

Words For Her Soul is a blog for women who know Jesus Christ, or who want to get to know Christ. My hope and prayers are that my blog posts, which incorporate scriptures and biblical knowledge, help women to navigate the messiness of modern life, which can include work, family, marriage, relationships, motherhood, friendships and everything else in between!

Hello! I’m a millennial who still feels like a teenager inside! I’m an advocate for mental health, emotional wellbeing and post traumatic growth. I have a counselling qualification. I’m a mom, a wife and a follower of Jesus Christ.

However I wasn’t always these things, including a believer of God. I’m a former atheist, then agnostic, who dabbled into a bit of New Age, before God plucked me out of all that when He came looking for me in my bedroom, on a cold British morning. Yes I got saved in my bedroom in my 30's, not in a church, or at a gospel revival event, just when it was only me and God in my bedroom and there wasn’t a Bible in sight!

Then God worked on the rest of my household! As a result, we are all dedicated Christians to the surprise of some. As Joshua 24:15 says “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”. So that’s me in a nutshell!

So join me as I delve into life’s struggles that women can face, emotional wellbeing and personal development in a trauma informed, faith led way.

I pray the words you read from me help heal yours and other women’s souls, so when your peaceful reading time is over and you go back out into the big wide (and at times frustrating) world, you remember to get your hope from God.
